Import Schedule Status
Prerequisites
- The schedule tool was used to create or maintain the budget baseline in EVMax.
- The current status date in the schedule tool matches the current period ending date in EVMax.
- You have entered the applicable activity status for the current reporting period in your schedule tool. This includes the actual start date when the activity begins, actual finish date when the activity completes, and physical percent complete. The schedule activity physical percent complete is the basis to calculate the work package percent complete in EVMax.
- Close the schedule tool. This ensures the current schedule status is saved in the schedule tool project before you import the data into EVMax.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
- Select your project from the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
- Click on the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu, select , and then select . An Import Earned dialog box displays.
- Click on the ellipsis button to navigate to the applicable MSP project file.
- Select the file and click to return to the import dialog box.
- The dropdown date is automatically set to the current reporting period.
- Click . A Mapping dialog box displays with and columns. The To column displays the minimum set of EVMax fields required to import the schedule status data. Where possible, the From column is auto populated with a matching MSP field.
- Select each MSP field using the dropdown to map it to the EVMax field in the column.
- Optional. When you have additional fields you want to map, use the dropdowns in the and columns to include the fields in the data import.
- Click to import the data.
- Review the applicable WBS elements with the imported data in the main EVMax window. See View Work Package Status or View the Earned Spread.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
- Select your project from the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
- Click on the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu, select , and then select . A Primavera Import Earned dialog box displays.
- Select the applicable EVMax field from the WP Mapping dropdown that maps to the P6 work package field.
- The dropdown date is automatically set to the current reporting period.
- Optional. Click the check box when you want to capture previous reporting periods as a cumulative earned to date for the current reporting period. For example, perhaps for a new project, the schedule hasn't been statused for the first three reporting periods. Rather than going back and incrementally statusing the previous three months, clicking this option imports the cumulative to date status for the current reporting period.
- Click .
- Review the applicable WBS elements with the imported data in the main EVMax window. See View Work Package Status or View the Earned Spread.
Tip:
Should you identify an error in the earned value data, you can clear the current period earned value data (see Remove Current Earned Values), fix the errors in the schedule tool, and then import the schedule status again.
